SCHOOL SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN IN PRIMARY EDUCATION IN KANKAN (GUINEA)

ACTIONS IMPLEMENTED


To provide effective educational support to children in education, Act for Health! carries out the following actions:

  • Tutoring and academic support

  • Remedial classes

  • Teacher training

  • Adapted teaching materials

  • Encouragement of positive parenting

  • Raising awareness about the importance of education

  • Access to educational technology

  • Monitoring and evaluation.

EXPECTED IMPACTS


Our educational support project in the context of literacy training for disadvantaged children in Guinea has significant positive impacts:

​

  1. Improved academic performance

  2. A reduction in the financial burden linked to education for families

  3. A reduction in poverty, thus limiting the phenomenon of immigration.

OUR METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH


Student admission criteria

  • children aged 6 to 10

  • enrolled in public education

  • CE1, CE2, CM1, CM2

  • having a delay in learning

  • having an average less than 6/10

  • preferably orphans, stigmatized children (albinos)

  • not having a repeater at home

  • 50% boys 50% girls

 

Revision classes are held twice three days/week from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Four (4) groups of 30 students are distributed as follows:

  • A third year class (CE1);

  • A fourth year class (CE2);

  • A fifth year class (CM1);

  • A sixth grade class (CM2).

 
Our objective was to reach 250 children per cycle in 2025.

As we reached 300 children in 2023, our new goal is to reach 500 children per session for 2025.
