TRAUMA CENTER IN KANKAN - GUINEA
Globally, more than 70% of trauma-related deaths occur in Lower- and Middle-Income Countries. And in the Kankan region, much like in the rest of Africa, traumatology is first cause of handicap, mortality before infectious disease and AIDS.
The concept is simple and cost efficient. The traumatology center would be assembled locally from imported modules, Equipment – op-theater, an ICU, X-ray radiology and a CT scan – would be provided through donations from the compulsory renewal depots of supporting medical facilities in the US or Europe.
Maintenance of this equipment could be done with support from local non-governmental organizations. Financial donations are excluded. Care will be provided by local doctors. There is a medical team on site to which we will provide continuous mentoring and capacity uplift through remote teaching and refresher courses.
