DONATION OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO THE KANKAN REGIONAL HOSPITAL

With the support of Global Logistics

Kankan, November 13, 2025

The NGO ACT FOR HEALTH IN AFRICA has provided the Kankan Regional Hospital Center (CHR) with a major donation of medical equipment to enhance healthcare services for the region's nearly one million residents.

The donated items include:

  • 3 operating tables;

  • 40 hospital beds;

  • a C-arm (imaging equipment);

  • bassinets;

  • a set of surgical instruments;

  • wheelchairs;

  • and other essential medical supplies and equipment.

This donation will immediately improve the capacity and patient care at the Kankan CHR, contributing to the quality of care provided to local communities. It also marks the first concrete step toward creating a Neurosurgery department intended to serve all of Upper Guinea, a population of about 2.5 million people.

ACT FOR HEALTH IN AFRICA is an NGO dedicated to strengthening health systems in Africa through training, equipment, and technical support initiatives, in partnership with local authorities and healthcare facilities.

"We are proud to provide tangible support to the Kankan CHR. This material aid is part of a broader, ambitious solidarity project aimed at increasing access to specialized, quality care for all of Upper Guinea," stated Professor Gilbert Dechambenoît, president of ACT FOR HEALTH IN AFRICA.
